Searching the Telfair County Court Docket
Start your Telfair County court docket hunt at the Clerk of Superior Court's Case Search entry. A regular browser session lands on the Icon Software Dockets page. There you'll see two separate forms, one for Civil Search and one for Criminal Search. The public side runs on a VIEW session. The login beside it belongs to court officials and attorneys, not to you.
Know which court you're searching before you type. Gather your key first. It can be a case number, a party name, a CSE number, an alias, a citation, or a filing range. The case number is usually the cleanest key. The clerk publishes no fixed local format, though. Name searches can be tightened with the Filed From and Filed To fields. The form demands at least one criterion. Nearly every text box wants three characters or more, apart from its percent wildcard.
- Enter through the clerk's Case Search page and choose Civil or Criminal Search.
- Use the case number when known, or enter the correct name or identifier.
- Add a filing-date range and a case-type or court checkbox to narrow matches.
- Open the matching case and select the plus control beside its number.
- Read the register, then ask the clerk for a filed document or certified copy when needed.
Portals misbehave. If this one loops or throws an internal error, go back to the clerk home page, allow session cookies, and switch to a desktop browser. And remember: a failed public session tells you nothing about whether the record exists.
Telfair Icon Docket Controls
Civil Search gives you these fields: Case #, Party Name, CSE #, System Wide Search, Filed From, and Filed To. Its category checks run from All, Domestic, Superior Civil, Child Support, and State Civil to Habeas Corpus. Criminal Search works differently, substituting Name, Alias, and Citation, with All, Superior Court, and State Court as its checks.
| Control | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Case # | Retrieve a known case without guessing a local number pattern. |
| Party Name / Name | Search a civil party or criminal name, then narrow broad results. |
| CSE # / Alias / Citation | Use only the identifier that belongs to that form and record. |
| Filed From / To | Limit results by the form's month/day/year-style date controls. |
| Category checks | Select the civil case type or criminal court that fits the matter. |
Treat the State Court option with care. The official e-file chart shows no separate current Telfair State Court. So that checkbox is just a portal label, not proof of a current local court assignment. Confirm any match it returns with the clerk.
Inside a Telfair County Court Docket
Think of the docket as a chronological register, sometimes called a register of actions. An entry can confirm that a pleading, notice, order, or judgment was filed. You often can't view the underlying image online, though. A non-identifying test of the system returns an official internal-error modal. So no sample docket is reproduced here. What follows is a list of fields worth checking. It's not a promise that every one appears in every result.
| Case identity | Case number, filing date, court, judge, caption or style, case type, and status. |
|---|---|
| Parties | Plaintiff and defendant, petitioner and respondent, or State and defendant roles. |
| Register entries | Complaints, petitions, service, answers, motions, notices, orders, pleas, trials, and judgments. |
| Settings | Date, time, judge, courtroom, hearing type, and reset history if displayed. |
| Outcome | Dismissal, judgment, plea, conviction, sentence, appeal, or other disposition event. |
| Access status | Document link, fee or login gate, redaction, sealed label, or restricted material. |
Read entries with a careful eye. A filed date is never a hearing date, a charge is not a conviction, and a scheduled trial doesn't prove the trial happened. Follow the later entries, then verify the current state of the case with the responsible office.
No Statewide Telfair Search Box
Georgia offers no single free, unified public Telfair County court docket search. Georgia Courts E-Access works as a provider and account gateway. It isn't a one-stop county lookup. PeachCourt and GreenCourt are the named Superior Court e-filing systems. Yet filing access never replaces the clerk's public Icon register.
The official Georgia Courts eFile route explains how eligible Superior Court filings move through PeachCourt. It's a useful way to keep the filing channel separate from the public search channel.

Other systems serve other purposes. Probate's PCIS, Magistrate's nCourt filing page, municipal ticket vendors, and federal PACER all do different jobs, and none of them stands in for a full Telfair docket.
Courts That Keep Dockets in Telfair County
Georgia splits trial work among courts with distinct powers, so a search only succeeds when it reaches the office that actually holds the record. Superior Court handles felonies, divorce, major civil cases, domestic matters, child support, habeas, and supervision of some lower-court business. Other case types take separate paths even when the offices share the courthouse area.
| Court | Docket covers | First access route |
|---|---|---|
| Superior Court | Felony criminal, major civil, domestic, child support, habeas, and Superior juvenile records | Clerk of Superior Court and Icon Civil or Criminal Search |
| Probate Court | Wills, estates, guardianship, conservatorship, licenses, and related matters | Probate office; confirm local PCIS access |
| Magistrate Court | Claims generally up to $15,000, dispossessory, warrants, and limited matters | Suite D office; nCourt is a filing route, not docket search |
| Juvenile Court | Delinquency, dependency, CHINS, and juvenile traffic | Juvenile clerk process with restricted-access rules |
| Municipal courts | City traffic, ordinances, warrants, and authorized misdemeanors | Issuing city or its official court and vendor route |
A federal case belongs to the Southern District of Georgia, Dublin Division, and runs through PACER. No state Superior search will surface a federal complaint, indictment, order, or judgment.
Three Telfair Courts on East Oak
Superior, Probate, and Magistrate offices all share the East Oak Street courthouse area, but their records stay separate. The Clerk of Superior Court sits at 19 East Oak Street, Suite C, in McRae. Probate is listed at Suite A. Magistrate occupies Suite D. Sharing a hallway does not merge their dockets.

One caution on the Probate phone number: it comes from a dated official directory, so check before you call. The county publishes no public-terminal availability, daily counter hours, appointment rule, or records cutoff for these offices. Call ahead to learn what each counter offers.
How to Find Court Dates and Settings
An expanded docket for a case may list the next setting. But weigh that against the clerk's newest calendar. The Telfair calendar index posts upcoming court-calendar PDFs. The 2026 files are scanned images labeled as Superior trial calendars. Each shows a date, time, and judge. They have no public text filter, so you read them by eye.
Oconee Judicial Circuit materials use local labels. Examples include Telfair Civil Term, Telfair Criminal Term, Telfair Revocations/Bonds, Telfair Habeas Corpus, and Telfair Motions/CS. A term label names the court business on the docket. It doesn't promise every listed case gets reached. A calendar entry is not a disposition.
Check the case number, setting type, date, time, judge, and courtroom against the register. When a PDF is old, scanned, or inconsistent, call the responsible clerk before you travel. The Oconee Circuit itself warns that its calendar is only a general guide. The county court dates page covers resets and missed settings in more depth.
Telfair Calendar Versus Docket
Calendars and dockets answer different questions. A calendar gathers the matters assigned to one session or term. The docket tracks events in a single case over time. A downloaded PDF can stay reachable after its date passes, while the case register later shows a continuance or reset.
- Setting
- A scheduled appearance or hearing that may later change.
- Trial calendar
- A posted list of matters selected for a date or term, not proof that every case was heard.
- Continuance or reset
- A postponement or changed setting; check the newest entry.
- Disposition
- An outcome event, not merely a place on the calendar.
The Eighth District also posts a livestream from a Telfair courtroom. Watching a stream is not a docket download, and no recording, still images, audio, or rebroadcast is permitted without judicial approval.
Public Access to Court Dockets
Georgia sets its baseline for public access to Superior Court records through Uniform Superior Court Rule 21. Rules 21.1 through 21.6 lay out the judicial process for limiting access, weighing privacy against the public interest, imposing temporary restrictions, providing review, and protecting identifiers. Rule 36.17 covers sensitive information and redaction in court records.
Key Georgia rules:
Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 begins with public access unless law or court procedure limits it.
Rule 21.2 requires the court to weigh privacy harm against the public interest.
Rule 36.17 addresses redaction of sensitive identifiers in filed records.
O.C.G.A. § 50-18-71 guidance explains requests for existing records, copy charges, search labor, and redaction.
Juvenile, adoption, guardianship, protected-person, medical, domestic-violence, and confidential law-enforcement material can carry extra limits. A missing public result does not prove no filing exists. Ask the clerk which nonrestricted docket fields remain open and what procedure governs access.
Telfair Docket Is Not the File
A Telfair docket entry, the filed document, and a certified copy are three different things. The docket is a chronology. The filed document is the complaint, petition, answer, motion, order, judgment, indictment, accusation, decree, or other item an entry references. A certified copy adds clerk authentication for official use.
| Record product | What it provides |
|---|---|
| Public web docket | Case identifiers, entries, settings, and status when shown. |
| Filed document | The actual content behind a register entry, subject to access limits. |
| Certified copy | A clerk-authenticated copy; a browser printout is not automatically certified. |
Fees follow the July 2024 statewide Superior schedule. Certified copies run $2.50 for the first page plus $0.50 per added page. Plain copies cost $0.50 per page without assistance, or $1 with help. Computer printouts are listed at $2.50 per page. The clerk can confirm the current revision, local add-ons, delivery, and payment.
Docket Records at the Clerk's Office
Amy Royal serves as Clerk of Superior Court. Her office keeps the principal Telfair County court docket. That covers Superior criminal, civil, domestic, child-support, habeas, and related records. The staff page divides work among desks. It lists civil, criminal, juvenile, adoption, garnishment, passport, habeas, real-estate, UCC, and child-support duties. The docket itself remains a court record held by the responsible office.

Call before you visit. The office publishes no current counter hours, terminal count, same-day certification cutoff, mail form, request email, drop-box rule, payment methods, or turnaround. Ask for the right records desk and whether an older paper file needs staff retrieval.
A written request should identify the court and the case number or party. Add a date range, the exact existing record, your preferred format, and contact information. Leave out sensitive identifiers the clerk does not need. Georgia law does not require an office to create a new report. Nor must it give a legal explanation.
Telfair Courthouse Record Timeline
Telfair County's records story began long before any online docket. Court first met in private homes from 1807 to 1812, then in a log courthouse. Jacksonville was the original county seat. McRae took that role in 1870 after the railroad reshaped the county's geography.
The 1904 courthouse burned on February 9, 1934. Workers rebuilt the present courthouse that same year using surviving walls. The National Register record describes a two-story Colonial Revival building. It had first-floor offices, a second-floor courtroom, basement storage, and the associated 1902 jail. That layout helps explain why old records may need staff retrieval.
Today's public layer combines the Icon portal, scanned calendar PDFs, and PeachCourt e-filing. The technology changed how filings reach the clerk and the public. It did not erase court custody, certification, redaction, or sealing rules. The county has never announced an official portal launch date. Nor has it named a complete online coverage year.
Telfair Docket Access by Numbers
Census QuickFacts puts Telfair County's July 1, 2025 population at 11,195, down from 12,477 in 2020. The county spans 437.31 square miles and held 28.5 people per square mile in 2020. Numbers that small put real weight on remote access and dependable fallback channels.
An older framed portal and scanned PDFs will not behave the same on every device. Phone, fax, counter service, and written requests remain part of the real access chain. Aggregate Georgia court dashboards can show system workload. They do not give a current Telfair case count. No count should be inferred from population figures.
Telfair County Court Dockets by City
Telfair's five incorporated places have different local access routes. Municipal traffic and ordinance matters start with the issuing city or court, not automatically with the Superior Clerk. Felony, major civil, domestic, child-support, and habeas cases stay county Superior matters. Population figures below come from the 2020 Census.

A city's online payment page can tell you what you owe, but it is not a full case history. For a hearing date, a case outcome, or copies of a filing, contact the city court clerk who holds the file.
